THE CHALLENGE
Cardiometabolic diseases are driven by lipid imbalances, making cholesterol and triglycerides key biomarkers. Current methods are slow, intermittent, and sample-intensive: labs need hours and milliliters of blood, while point-of-care devices provide only snapshots. This absence of continuous, real-time feedback limits therapy control during lipoprotein apheresis and leaves patients without actionable insights for prevention and lifestyle management.
OUR SOLUTION
We developed a microfluidic sensor platform combining enzyme-based fluorometric detection with continuous blood monitoring. It delivers high-frequency, real-time cholesterol and triglyceride data at the bedside—four measurements per second with a few-minute response time. Clinicians gain closed-loop therapy feedback and digital reporting, while the technology also opens future pathways to preventive, home-based lipid tracking for personalized health management.
